Lotsa cards ... I couldn't leave you hanging.

Here are three different cards that I created for various occasions. The first one was for one of Beate's sketch challenge (which I was too late posting to participate in):

This one is for my sisters birthday which is coming up on June 9th. She is a pretty funky chick so I wanted to create a funky card:

This next one took a couple of days to create as I kept changing what I wanted to put together. As it turned out I think that it is one of my faves! I gave this one to my Mom as she is my #1 Fave!

Father's Day ... Early!

Thanks to Allison I have been a stamping fool lately! I have created birthday and thank you cards early and participated in two sketch challenges ... can you say 'enabler' ... haha. I am really having fun and I know that all of the recipients are really enjoying the cards as well.

Here is my creation for Father's Day ... Allison and I each worked on one and they were fun to create and turned out really well.

And here is what it looks like folded out. I have to add some photos, but I know that my Dad will really appreciate it ... he thinks I am an artiste!

Allison's Sketch

Well, I figured that I better get my butt in gear and get on this sketch considering it was made for me!

This was made with my new stamp set from Stampin' Up - In the Wild. I absolutely love this set as it features my favourite of all things ... animals. Lots of posts to come ... I have actually been stamping, just not blogging.

Dundee a little cuter ... plus Koda.

I was just looking back at the picture of Dundee and I realized that was a face only a mother could love. He really is quite cute so I took these pictures of him wrapped up in a blanket looking very tame ... ha,ha ... how they fool you!

At the same time, I also realized that my other dog Koda has not had much face time on the blog yet. Could this be because he is sweet, quiet and stays out of trouble??? Great reward for the 'good' dog, pretend he doesn't exist. Well, here is a picture of my sweetest little black doggie, KK. Well he is really not so little, he is about 50 lbs. but he is little compared to Dundee. This is him being introspective at his Auntie Joyce's in California:

Friends ...

Here is the very first card that I have created with my very own Papertrey Ink stamps! It is quite fitting that I made this with Allison as she is my BFF who introduced me to all of this stamping craziness.

And here is the inside ... like my Mom I love to put sentiments on the inside as well:

Wow! The orange is looking pretty bright in the photos ... it certainly stands out however I don't think it is that harsh in real life.

Doggies ... finally!

I just remembered that this blog is called "Doggies and more..." and thought that I might as well share a bit of the Doggies part. Dundee (my sweet but VERY busy puppy) has a thing for chewing on eyeglasses. He has destroyed 4 or so pairs of glasses (both mine and my Mother's) and most recently a brand new pair that I got to replace the pair he had ingested!

Here they are! I wasn't able to find any of the lenses however my Mom said that she almost stepped on pieces of them when she came over later that day to let Koda and Dundee out. It was supposed to be a secret that he had eaten another pair (and a very expensive pair too), but I had to stay late at work. For your viewing pleasure we also took a pic with them on me:

Why am I smiling? I don't know. Is that I have gone totally insane as well as broke from this nutcase I call my dog??? Here is a picture of him looking sweet and then another of him trying to quickly vacate the crafting table that he had just been investigating.

3 days in a row!

Well, I think that I have actually posted three days in a row ... holy moly!! Can you tell I self-censored there?? Anyhoo, I have another card that I made last Friday that I really like (it is another one that I gave to my Momma for Mom's Day):

Monday, Monday ...

The work week has begun again ... this always seems to happen on Mondays! ;)

I was a very busy card making bee this weekend thanks to Allison's great stamps and creative support so I thought that I should share. I made these for my Mom for Mother's Day. All of our stamping stuff is at my house so it is hard for her to get over and make cards when she needs them, so I figured I would give her some.

I made the top card first and absolutely loved it. It is so simple, but quite striking. The other two were meant to follow on the theme however they just aren't as appealing to me, but I like them all together.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you beautiful women out there who spend so much of your time caring for people like me ... I love you Mom!

Here is the card that I created for my Momma. I used the vibrant silk flowers that I won from Nicole in a Friday Freebie:

And here is my Mom, Cheryl, with the card:

Beate's Sketch Challenge

This is my first sketch challenge that I have ever entered into Blog Candy and this time it is for Beate who has reached over 200000 hits!!

I am quite proud of this card and so happy with how it turned out. I can't wait to get my Papertrey Ink stamps (these are Allison's).

Finally ... some cards of my own!!

Finally I have downloaded some images from my camera from a couple of cards that I have made in the last couple of week.

This is a card that I made for Allison. It doesn't look that great in the photo but I really fell in love with this SU paper (I think it is Elegant Eggplant).

I made this card for my Mom the week before last. It had been a pretty hairy week (as per usual) and I wanted to create something fresh and hopeful. I think that it is one of my favourites that I have made.

1986!!

You Belong in 1986

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

Friday Freebie ... I won!!

Hello All. I finally have something good to publish. ;p A couple of weeks ago I won one of Nicole's 'Friday Freebies' and here they are:

She also sent me a really pretty card:

This arrived in the mail on Friday and it was a welcome treat!!

Me again ...

Howdy! I have not been posting however I have made a couple of cards which I will post when I get home ... I am actually pretty proud of them. It was a busy weekend as today is the last day to file personal taxes in Canada ... my Mom is an accountant and I was helping her out this weekend. Needless to say going to my 'real' job today was not very exciting after such a busy weekend ... I think I worked more in the last two days than I did all last week. :)

Anyhoo, lots of changes in my life these days so I may have more time to make cards and post to my blog. Either that or I will have less time as I embark on my exciting new life ... not. Haha. Updates to follow.

Love you all. A.

Long time no speak.

Well I thought that I had better get a message out there to my faithful fans. :p

It has been a fairly rough week and I haven't had a chance to work on any cards. Allison and I went shopping (again) on Saturday evening and I picked up a great new stamp set, a bag of gorgeous Prima flowers, and 1 piece of paper (I was so well behaved). It was an absolute gong show in the store and the lady at the cash register was surprised that I waited in line for so long for only 3 items ... but Allison had a great haul and she has been busy making cards!

Tonight is our 3rd Chi Ball/Pilates class, well my 3rd and Allison's second. I know that we are going to be great!! Of course I wish that I didn't have to go cuz I am feeling lazy but I always have fun ... my mind keeps me back. Arghhh! Anyhoo, I am going to head home soon to visit the boys before I head out. Cheers!

Card therapy!

I have been giving myself some card therapy this evening ... I have made two cards so far but I think that it has been enought. Perhaps I should take it easy as I will be helping out tomorrow at Tristan's 4th birthday party. Of course, knowing Allison, everything will be taken care of and I will just be there to eat, chat and eat some more! I can only show one of the cards that I have made tonight for reasons that I will share when I do post it. In the meantime here is a card that I made based upon SCS Sketch Challenge 54.

It is certainly not very masculine however I love how it turned out! This was definitely a challenge for me as I started with the Basic Grey DP and then had to work from there. The colours actually look pretty neat with how closely they match the DP. You can check out other SC54 creations here.

Sad news.

I just found out from my Mom that my Grandma passed away last night. She has been sick for some time but it is still such a sad thing. She was quite an amazing woman who accomplished many great things despite all of the hardships that she faced. She had a zest for life that at times was probably a little too zesty, however she lived her life to the fullest. My Mom and my Aunt went to visit her a couple of weeks ago and although it was hard I think that it was a good and peaceful goodbye. I am sorry that I haven't seen her in a couple of years but I have so many fond memories that will keep her alive in my heart forever. I love you Grandma!

Better photos!

Thanks again to Allison, I have figured out how to take better pictures of my cards to share with all of you. I should have known this as I love to take close up pictures of just about everything! Anyways, now the cards will be much more clear especially if you click on them to see the details. I will be posting some of the cards that I have made in the past to use this as an archive. Note that almost all of these cards have been made with either Allison's help or her paper, stamps, ink etc... Or for that matter, stamps or ink that she has bought me. Do you think she is feeding my addiction or what! At least I have stopped buying so much and am actually making now. BTW: We both kicked butt at Chi Ball/Pilates - we are the epitome of grace and sweat!

Tuesday ... not much better than Monday.

Well today doesn't seem to be working out to be much better than Monday was ... what the helk!! Perhaps my Chi Ball/Pilates class will help out. It is always good for a laugh. Plus Allison will be joining me for the first time tonight. I shall see if I am totally uncoordinated or not. My guess is that I am but supposedly by week 3 (this is week 2) it should get easier to follow along.

What the heck???

I just read on Yahoo that there has been another school shooting, this time at Virginia Tech. I just don't understand what is going on in the person's head who decides that it is acceptable to take others lives while taking their own ... especially random lives. My heart goes out to everyone at Virginia Tech, this must be extremely frightening and heart wrenching.

Monday morning ... arghh!

Well it is Monday morning and I am feeling like shizz. Not sure why, it is just one of those days I guess. It seems like it may be a nice day so hopefully that will brighten things up. For now I will just plod along at work and dream of being elsewhere! :) Take care.

Comments already.

Wow ... this is quite exciting to think that others are actually looking at my ramblings and silly stuff. I have been having fun adding slide shows and guestbooks ... again thanks to Allison for all of the great ideas that I am 'borrowing' from her blog.

Tristan's Birthday Card

Tristan is turning 4 this week so I wanted to create a fun but simple card for him. I think that it looks better in person ... I guess the camera does add 10 lbs. :)

Good morning!

Well, I have actually posted more than once now which is actually quite amazing. I am going to collect some of the cards I have made and post them. This will be a good archival tool as it is always bittersweet to send a card as you lose it forever. I made a really cute one last night at Allison's house. It is Tristan's 4th birthday this week so I needed to make a fun card for my favourite God son. :) More later.

Koda & Dundee

Here is a picture of my two boys, Koda and Dundee. As much as they love to play in the snow I am thankful that it is gone ... for now. It is almost May, where is the sunshine??

My First Posting

Well, this is my first attempt at creating a blog. My girlfriend, Allison, suggested that I get one going so that we could be blogging buddies as well as stamping, eating and chatting buddies! As much as I can talk my face off, I find it difficult to write my face off ... so we shall see. You will want to check out her blog at: http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/. She is the blog candy queen!
